Dashboards, reports and views

Each main menu item opens its own dashboard; five reports cover the questions trade houses ask every day; and every list can be saved as a view. Dashboards are shared Workspace records, the same in the app and in Desk, so one dashboard serves both.

1. The shipped dashboards

Click a number card or chart to open the list behind it. Every figure is read with your permissions.

2. Change a dashboard

  1. Open the dashboard and click Edit.
  2. Add a box: choose from the catalogue (number cards, charts, quick lists, the fleet map and other blocks), or make a new number card or chart.
  3. Drag boxes to move them, drag their corner to resize, remove the ones you do not need.
  4. Save. A Workspace Manager saves it for everyone; anyone else saves as my dashboard, a personal copy.

New makes another dashboard (e.g. My credits desk): from scratch or as a copy of the current one, For everyone or Only you. More renames or deletes a dashboard you may change (its figures and charts stay for other dashboards). On a list page, Add a dashboard to this page puts a dashboard above that list.

Desk's PALBONTradeFinance workspace pages open these same dashboards in the app.

3. Reports

Report Menu Shows
Trade Register Trading › Reports Each trade: title, status, commodity, quantity, Incoterm, supplier and buy price, buyer and sell price, expected and realised margin, laycan, currency
Outstanding Settlements Trading › Reports Each unpaid settlement: trade, leg, counterparty, status, total, paid, outstanding, due date, days overdue
Laycan Schedule Shipping › Reports Each voyage: trade, vessel, status, ports, laycan, ETAs, nomination, B/L date
Credit Deadlines Trade Finance › Reports Each live credit: LC number, type, status, trade, maximum, B/L date, present-by date, expiry, the next date and days left
Facility Exposure Trade Finance › Reports Each facility: bank, limit, utilised, available, % used, live credits

Reports open in Desk's report view, where you can filter, sort, group, chart and export them.

4. Saved views

On any list (see Finding your way):

  1. Set the columns, filters, sort and grouping you want.
  2. Save view, give it a name, and choose whether everyone sees it (managers only).
  3. Pick a view from the view menu; make default opens the list with it.
  4. The owner or a manager can update or delete a view.

5. Export

Export CSV on a list downloads the rows the filters select, with the shown columns (up to 5,000 rows). Reports export from Desk's report menu.

6. Questions by voice or text

The command bar answers many report questions directly, for example:

  • How many letters of credit are issued?
  • Total expected margin of confirmed trades
  • Show LCs expiring in 14 days
  • Show trades with sale value above 5 million
  • How much headroom on the Meridian facility?
